There Is This Gap

These words are brought to you by Ira Glass, an amazing journalist and radio personality for an amazing show called This American Life.  In my experience, he has always had a way of understanding and communicating the human condition for all walks of life -without judgment or bias.

It’s uncanny (and almost unsettling) how this describes almost every feeling I’ve ever had in my struggles with art and life in general.   These words have become a wonderful mantra that would apply to any creative mind.

Sure – I’m in that gap. Maybe you are too. But as Glass pointed out – we all go through this.  It’s why we all need the support of a community to keep us fighting. Because once we come reach the other side of this gap, that’s when we have the chance to really make things happen.
