Do you want to share your creativity with the community here?  We’re always looking for new artists to share their work and thoughts.

Who can write for STA?

You!  We’re always looking for original contributions that bring new inspiration to our community.  STA loves expanding our artistic group here and you may be the perfect fit with us!

Why write for us?

Because you’re passionate about the world of art.  Sure, there’s not a money-making part to it yet.  But you do get a complete bio in your author profile that can include links to your own sites.  More importantly, you’ll be adding your voice to our community while becoming part of the remarkable minority of artists!

What are we looking for?

If you’ve been here a while, you’ll already have a feel for what our artists write about.  If you haven’t seen much of our community, no worries!  Just take a look around to see what our artists have done already.

For you list artists out there, here’s what we’re looking for:

• Creativity – This isn’t for those “Subway Sandwich Artists” out there.  You have to have some creativity in you.
• Writing for the Web – Yeah, you’re an artist.  That doesn’t mean you can’t write well for an online community.  Just stay away from the lengthy academic treatise while avoiding the other sin of scribbles from your Field Notebook.
• How-To’s  – A small but ever expanding part of our site.  If you know how to develop photos using the classic daguerreotype process, then please share!
• Practical Artistic Process – Hours in a classroom are great but let’s be honest, artists just want to get out there and create.  Tell us about the creative process behind your last work.
• Artistic Commentary– Yeah, every artist has an opinion.  As long as it’s constructive and adds to the grand narrative of art, then rant away.

You’re probably an amazing artist – we’d love to hear from you.

So now that you’re hooked, the next step is to contact us!  As you probably figured out already, we don’t let just any artist from the neighborhood write for us.

• Send us a brief bio, your field of art, and any thing else that might be interesting about you.
• Give us some URLs to some previous works, articles, photos,  or anything else that shows off your artistry.
• Tell us 3 solid ideas for topics and posts you are interested in writing about.

Then definitely let us know!  We’d love to feature your work in the upcoming STA Community Gallery.  From photos to stories, videos to the best culinary dish you ever created, we want it all.
